Overview
K.J. Alphonse Kannanthanam Bureaucrat-turned-Politician, who shot to fame in 1992-97 when as Delhi Development Authority commissioner. He quit the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 2006 to join politics and won the Kanjirapally assembly seat from Kottayam district as an independent backed by the Left Democratic Front in the assembly polls of 2006.
